WHAT IS ECAVIAT ?

Ecaviat is a collective that brings together public and private figures, researchers, and enthusiasts from the world of aeronautics and its sustainable future. Its activities are based on the publication of articles (research, opinion, reflective, etc.), conferences with speakers from various sectors, and the development of technical tools for aeronautics (modeling, simulation, etc.).

OUR GOALS

Ecaviat was founded on the belief that shared narratives and beliefs often have a significant influence on human behavior. Until now, few organizations have addressed these issues through holistic approaches and actively sought solutions. Our current world suffers from a lack of positive perspectives and imaginaries, amid ecological threats, wars, and economic crises. Specifically, aviation, essential in a globalized world, is losing its appeal among a population increasingly aware of climate issues. In contrast, we believe that harmonizing sustainability with aviation is not only feasible but also desirable. We are deeply committed to sustainable aviation, seeing it as the most viable solution to balance the social and economic challenges of the future. To achieve this, we must create narratives that resonate with the younger generation, reframing aviation not as a threat but as a key to combating these dangers.

OUR MOTIVATIONS

Ecaviat aims to build the narratives and imaginaries of tomorrow, especially in the field of sustainable aviation. We believe that narratives are created through the interconnection of reality and unreality, fact and fiction. This approach at Ecaviat is realized through an interdisciplinary method, covering a range of topics from technological advancements to mass communication and public policies. Our goal is to bring together diverse and complementary actors from various fields and sectors, capable of shaping the imaginaries, narratives, and norms that will define future society.

SUStainable aviation in numbers

55 million

The International Air Transport Association (IATA) expects the overall production capacity of renewable fuels to reach at least 55 million tonnes by 2028.

2050

The aviation industry is 27 years away from the net zero goal agreed upon by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).

39%

From 2005 to 2019, the aviation industry improved fuel efficiency by approximately 39%.
